NADMO Central is supervising the demolition of houses and temporary structures along the Cape Coast highway particularly at the Duakor, Abakam, 31st & the Ahiaboboe communities in the Cape Coast North Constituency, that has reached a critical phase. This exercise is a key step in clearing the “Right-of-Way” for the dualization of the Cape Coast- Takoradi Highway.
NADMO in collaboration with the RCC and CCMA, is closely supervising these demolitions to ensure public safety, to manage the displacement of affected residents, to ensure the prevention of accidents during the exercise and to assist affected victims in complying with the exercise.
While the long-term goal is economic growth and safer travel, the immediate impact of the project has caused significant concern among affected residents regarding compensation and relocation.
Leading the team was Mr E. K. Dawood Mensah- Regional Director, Colonel (rtd) George Afful- Deputy Regional Director in charge of Operations, Mr Emmanuel Ayensu- Regional Operations Director, Hon David Owu- Cape Coast Metro Director and Mr Nanabanyin Quayson – Cape Coast North Director.
